About Us
Who are we?
The Tanzania Commodity Exchange is established under a private-public partnership with the Government of Tanzania regulated by the Capital Markets and Securities Authority. The aim of the exchange is to establish linkages between agricultural and commodity producers and buyers, to secure competitive prices for their products, assuring the market quantity and quality as well as timely settlement of their trade.
What we do
Tanzania Mercantile Exchange (TMX) operates a centralized digital commodity trading platform, offering real-time online auctions and transparent price discovery. We develop and maintain an in-house Online Trading System tailored for the Tanzanian market.
Our services include establishing trading rules and guidelines for various commodities and ensuring regulatory compliance with the Commodity Exchange and Warehouse Receipt Acts. TMX is committed to capacity building by training stakeholders such as farmers, cooperative unions, and financial institutions.
